One of the best ways to view the beauty of Northern Ireland is to walk it. This website will provide all the details you require to find walks that will lead you into the beauty of the country.
A great site that details some of the interesting places and sites to be visited within a very short drive of Meadow Cottage.
A less detailed site providing information about attractions around the historic town of Ballycastle.
Just a few minutes drive from Meadow Cottage is the thriving coastal town of Portrush and this site should tell you all you need to know about all that's of interest there.
A great site set up by Ballymena tourism that provides excellent information about great places to visit most withing half an hours drive of Meadow Cottage.
A very informative site run by Moyle Council with lots of information about places to visit and things to do around the Moyle/Ballycastle areas.
Many places along this spectacular coast are owned and operated by the National Trust including the Giant's Causeway, Carrick-a-Rede Rope Bridge, Strand Beach in Portstewart and Mussenden Temple. Membership is strongly advised in order to make the most of your visit.
The Giant's Causeway situated just five miles from Meadow Cottage is a UNESCO (United Nations Educational Scientific and Cultural Organisation) World Heritage site. You can read all about the work of UNESCO and World Heritage here.
Local Kennels
Carragh Cottage Kennels is just half a mile from Meadow Cottage. It's an excellent clean friendly and caring place with just seven kennels. Well worth considering if your staying local and as our dogs stay there we can highly recommend it.
Local Shops
Northern Ireland still has many  great independent retail stores and we detail our best below.
A fantastic local fruit and vegetable shop easily accessed from Meadow Cottage that has a great variety of fresh produce as well as sauces, jams, honey and a wonderful variety of other treats you will enjoy during your stay along the Causeway Coast.
S & T Moore- Coleraine
A really first class Gentleman's outfitters and school wear supplier. Friendly staff, good stock at good prices.
McKillen's - Ballymena
In our opinion the best shoe shop in the UK stocking an excellent range of shoes for all people, sizes and occasions. Also take time to relax in the ambient atmosphere of their Fern Room restaurant.
Dixons - Coleraine
A top notch ladies wear shop. Not cheap but really great quality.
Moores - Coleraine
One of the largest independent retail stores in Northern Ireland. Here you will find everything from Menswear to Ladieswear, Kitchen utensils and a first class toy shop.
The White House- Portrush
Another great department store linked to Moores of Coleraine.
A great little shopping complex with several of the better known stores all under one roof.
A great garden centre less than two miles from Meadow Cottage with a superb gift shop and excellent coffee shop serving a wonderful choice of home made food. Try their Ruhubarb pie for a real treat!
Another great little garden centre stocking a good variety of produce and with another nice coffee shop.
The area boasts some great places to eat out and we add contacts for some of the best.
Ramore Resturants - Portrush
A series of resturants overlook the harbour in Portrush all overing great food and reasonable prices.
55 North- Portrush
A super resturant offering a great menu again at reasonable prices.
A great place to dine with some of the most spectacular views along the North Coast and only 5 minutes drive from Meadow Cottage. Make sure you reserve a table to get one with the best views!
Bay View Hotel- Portballintrae
A great hotle in the picturesque village of Portballintrae offering a good menu and a a great view across the pretty cove.
Morellis - Portstewart
The famous Ice Cream parlour in Portstewart. With so many types of Ice Cream to choose from you will be hard pressed to make a choice. Also do a good selection of basic hot food.
Bushmills Inn- Bushmills
A great 4 star rated establishment with an excellent menu.
Situated between the Giant's Causeway and Bushmills this is a very food place to stop for eith a quick snack, evening meal or Sunday roast.
Roughans - Portstewart
A great cafe/resturant situated on the first floor and overlooking Portstewart harbour. A good selection of lighter bites to suit ever palate. Try their Scones which are in our opinion some of the best we have ever tasted!
The Tides- Portrush
A newly established resturant situated between Portrush and Portstewart offering a good selection of food at reasonable prices and superb sea views from the front tables. Be sure to book as it can be busy in holiday periods.
