Meadow Cottage was created in 2012/13 as home for a family member who although in advanced years decided that he would rather stay in his own area than come and live close to his family. We have always had a desire to run a small self catering holiday cottage and decided that this was an ideal opportunity.
We have previously stayed in holiday homes throughout the UK and been very disappointed on arrival. One we spent the entire first day of our stay cleaning out because it was so dirty! Then when we sat down on the Settee we fell straight through and ended up on the floor! In another we opened the wardrobes to find the inside green with mold! We strongly believe that this standard should not be allowed or accepted. We still use self catering cottages when we ourselves go away and are often disappointed to find that they have been furnished with old second hand furniture, the bathrooms are dated, doors are falling off kitchen cupboards and nothing has been spent on their upkeep. Paying guests, in our opinion, deserve better.
With this in mind we have tried to make Meadow Cottage a place to relax with a touch of class, using as far as possible high quality furnishings and equipment. We have provided an oak and leather dining table and chairs, leather sofa's and easy chair, quality beds and even recently updated the waste bin to a very expensive varirty! We feel that cleanliness and quality are of vital importance along with that homely feel.
Situated close to Portrush, Portstewart and the world famous Giants Causeway it is a great place to stay and take in the attractions of the North Antrim Coast.
Being animal lovers we appreciate just how hard it can be to find good quality self catering accommodation that accepts pets. We are therefore very happy to allow small to medium sized well behaved dogs to stay at Meadow Cottage. We do however make a minimal £10 charge per pet per stay to cover the cost of extra cleaning etc.
